caning

alright guys. so sorry for the lateness to update. i've been very busy ever since the day i started my practicum. i am just gonna go straight where i am heading.

i read a news in facebook saying that a father reported to the police that his child was caned at school because her child did not finish her homework.

i must say that there are always two sides of the story. what we probably did not know that, the child perhaps has not been exposed to being punished for what she is supposed to do but did not do. that is one possibility, that is why she's cannot cope with being punished and feeling stressful about the incident.

another possibility is that, the child did not feel guilty at all for not finishing her homework. perhaps she thinks that she did not deserve any homework at all.

okay, that's the negative story of it. perhaps. it may be and may be not true.

let's take a look at the positive side of the story.

perhaps, that child was given so many works to do that she was at lost which one to do first.

or perhaps that child did not know how to solve the problem (the homework given) and that's why she didn't do her homework.

the above are all assumptions. it can be true. and it can also be false. it's just an assumption. nobody knows the real story of it.

and here's the other side of a story. the one who punished.

one: perhaps the teacher did not know that her lesson was a failure that she failed to make that child understand her lesson. thus led to the unfinished homework.

two: in every occasion as a teacher, you have to ask first, why you is the child did not do her/his homework. it can be for various reasons. or perhaps the child is not interested at the subject at the first place.

third: the teacher had so much in her mind that sometimes, punishing is the most effective way. but come on, you expect the teacher to be calm at all times? teachers have their own problems too. BUT. keeping it professional is the best thing to do. that is, leave your problems at home and have fun while working. or plan carefully.

fourth: the teacher gave too many homework and expected the child to finish it in one night.

to teachers, just remember, there are ways to cane your students. remember what our Prophet taught us? to punish a child, cane it at the

perhaps.

but, hey, parents are just doing their job in protecting the children, and teachers are just doing their job to teach and give knowledge to the students.

if everyone keeps this in mind, i don't think there would be any problem. but of course there has got to be a barrier or limited things that parent can do or can't do and what teachers can do and can't do.

to future teachers, perhaps caning is the best way to teach and discipline the child. but there are also many other approaches and methods to teach and solve discipline problems. the easiest way and with the most instant effect is of course punishing, but it will be better if positive actions to be taken first rather than the negative.

children nowadays are not like what they used to be. they can't be touched. they can't be scolded. they need love. but at some point in their life, they will have to learn how to deal with those incidents. believe me, nobody is going to give us love for no reason. you have to earn it.

and to parents who are not teachers, please do remember that teaching profession is not easy at all. physically maybe there's not much to be done, but mentally, they have so much in minds when they are at classroom to teach. just imagine, if you can't control your one child at home, imagine a teacher who has to control 40 children at one time. just imagine. if we try to understand people more, then this people in this world will not be fighting with each other. :)

love more, and hate less.
