teacher's rant

been such a long time. hi bloggers.

the past few days had been very challenging for me. the kids were super naughty and if i didn't hold my patience, something bad would've happened.

the moment i stepped out of the classroom, i felt the urge to cry. tears wanting to fall down. because they were so naughty and i was at my limit. parents who are not a teacher wouldn't understand this. because the most number of kids that they have are only 5 or 6, maybe 7. that's it.

try to put them in a classroom of 36 students and teach them the same thing, what would've happened and how would you react. i wonder.

yesterday, the kids were punished with 50 questions to be copied and answered on the board.

and today, i add 100 more.

and i know, they have learned their lesson now, because when i was writing down the questions on the board, i heard one of them said, "teacher is still angry, that's why we're being punished."

would i be mad if they listen to me? would i be mad if they do their work? would i?

any teacher could have explode if the students didn't do the work. imagine a mother asked her child to clean up the mess, and the child didn't do. what options do parents have? to scold? to be angry? or to hit the children?

see.

same goes with the teacher, but the teacher has opted out the option to hit the children.

i chose this type of punishment because i need them to listen to me and at least, by doing the punishment, they would have learned something.

i am expecting the bare minimum.

so, i gave them two days to complete the work and by Monday, i would like to see the books on my table.

luckily this time around, all of them heard what i said. and they understood that if they still didn't complete the work, they would have been punished with even more questions to answer.

conclusion for today: i have to work even harder to discipline the kids. i also don't want to be a teacher who gets angry over every little things that happened. i just wished that my kids would respect me and listen to me and most importantly, they are able to understand English and love it.

i couldn't wait to do my next lesson because i am preparing something for them this weekend.

p/s: TEACHERS ARE WORKING ON WEEKENDS TOO.
